Evergreen Curling Club is the home of the sport of curling in the Portland area. The past year has been a challenging time for most of us. Through a combination of good fiscal planning and good fortune, ECC has been able to survive a year with very little revenue. But as we approach the 21-22 curling season, COVID is still a concern, that concern brings uncertainty, and that uncertainty may continue to affect us financially. We are not in imminent danger, but if we can’t start breaking even, we soon may be.
ECC is a non-profit organization. We rely on the generosity of our volunteers for most of the club’s operation, but unfortunately our landlord and power company don’t accept checks drawn on our member’s passion and elbow grease. We generate revenue through leagues, public lessons, and renting our ice (and the effort of our volunteers) for corporate and community events. This revenue keeps our club afloat, certainly, but it also helps us bring curling to our community and gives us the ability to assist our juniors. ECC has one of the largest junior curling programs in the US.
Please consider making a donation to our club this year. As a 501(c)(3) organization, your donation is tax deductible. Many companies will even match your contribution and make your donation help that much more. We’re looking for $25,000 by January 1st, 2022 to shore up our club for the new season.
To be a self-sustaining club, inclusive of all people and skill levels, that promotes curling development in an enjoyable environment.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit sports organization.
